It wasn’t supposed to sound like that.
When I started Run It Wide Open, it was heavier.
Faster. More aggressive.
But something felt off.
I kept coming back to it, stripping things down, changing the feel… and every time, it pulled in a different direction.
Slower. More controlled.
Eventually I stopped trying to force it into what I thought it should be and just let it go where it wanted to go.
That’s when it clicked.
It wasn’t meant to hit hard.
It was meant to land.
Some songs don’t need to be pushed.
They just need space.
