The original intro felt too similar to “Eyes Ahead,” so I started experimenting with a different idea. In the middle of a thunderstorm, the power went out and my battery backup kicked on.

As the backup battery started running low, it began beeping almost perfectly in sync with the beat of the new intro I was working on.

When the power came back on, I recreated a similar beep sound in the same key and matched it to the BPM. That accidental moment ended up becoming part of the atmosphere behind the intro for “Back Again.”
